For the first time at Great Lake there is a guiding operation that offers comfortable, cottage style, private fishing lodge accommodation in the hub of the Central Highlands. Rainbow Lodge is nestled amongst the character fishing shacks of Miena, with wonderful views towards Great Lake and over the beautiful scenery of Haddens Bay. Preparation of Rainbow Lodge has recently been completed and will be open for guests on the 1st of October 2004.

Our lodge is called Rainbow Lodge not just in homage to rainbow trout, but because we guide and fish the entire rainbow of fishing opportunities in Tasmania, from the wonders of Arthurs Lake, the intriguing depths of Great Lake, the subtle frustrations of Penstock Lagoon and Little Pine Lagoon, to the wonderful alpine flats of the western lakes both near and far as well as the lowland rivers and streams.

Rainbow Lodge looks out across the landscape towards Barren Tier, Five Mile Pinnacles and is sheltered by Mackersley Head offering warm, comfortable and well appointed accommodation for guided fishing clients and their companions.

Rainbow Lodge has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a huge front lounge area that leads out onto an expansive deck. The lounge features a fly tying bench complete with all the secret materials, comfortable chairs and full entertainment facilities including CD and DVD players. The library is full of local and overseas fishing books, magazines and a range of novels and other general interest publications. For those who need to keep in touch with the outside world we have plug in and dial up internet access.
